DTP – Typesetting

The step of Desktop Publishing (known also as DPT) or Typesetting consists of making sure that the translated document looks great and reflects as closely as possible the original document, while taking account of the specificity of the target language. For example, the French language is about 1,25 time longer that the English language so the font might have to be adjusted for the translated text to fit in a box not expandable. Some other factors might need to be taken into account such as properly cutting the long words, or ensuring that sentences flow to the next line at the right point, etc. The purpose of such an action is a page looking great, which doesn’t distract the attention of the reader in order to maximize the impact created by the content.
